Community Guidelines

Last updated: April 3, 2026

These guidelines apply to all CHKDSK Labs products and projects that allow community contributions or user interaction, including platforms with user-generated content and open-source repositories hosted on GitHub and Hugging Face. By participating, you agree to follow these guidelines alongside our Terms & Conditions.

1. General Conduct

  • Treat other participants with respect, regardless of experience level, background, or perspective.
  • Assume good intent. Disagreements are fine — hostility is not.
  • Stay on topic. Keep discussions relevant to the product, project, or contribution at hand.
  • Do not post content that is threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or deliberately harmful to others.

Applicable projects

2. User-Generated Content

On platforms that allow user-generated content, additional standards apply:

  • Do not post content that identifies private individuals by name without their consent.
  • Do not use the platform primarily for self-promotion, spam, or deceptive content.
  • Do not post malware, phishing links, or content designed to exploit other users.
  • Respect intellectual property. Do not post content you do not have the right to share.
  • Content that violates these guidelines may be removed without notice. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

Applicable projects

3. Open-Source Contributions

For open-source projects hosted on GitHub and Hugging Face:

  • Search existing issues before opening a new one to avoid duplicates.
  • Provide clear reproduction steps and context when reporting bugs.
  • Keep pull requests focused. One change per PR makes review faster and merges cleaner.
  • Follow the coding conventions and style already established in the repository.
  • Be patient with review timelines. Maintainers are a small team and will get to your contribution.
  • Contributions are accepted under the same license as the project (MIT for all current OSS repositories).

Applicable projects

4. Content Moderation

CHKDSK Labs reserves the right to moderate content and contributions across all products and projects. Moderation may be automated, AI-assisted, community-driven, or manual depending on the product. All AI-assisted moderation uses Zero Data Retention models — content submitted for moderation is not stored or used for model training.

5. Enforcement

Violations of these guidelines may result in one or more of the following actions, at our discretion:

  • Content removal or edit
  • Temporary or permanent account suspension
  • Blocking from repositories or project communication channels
  • Reporting to relevant platform (GitHub, Hugging Face) if their terms are also violated

We aim to be fair and proportionate. First-time minor infractions will generally receive a warning before escalation.

6. Reporting

To report a violation of these guidelines, contact us at jay@chkdsklabs.io or open an issue on the relevant GitHub repository. Include as much context as possible (links, screenshots, usernames) so we can investigate effectively.

7. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these guidelines as our products and community evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through relevant channels.
